Following are excerpts of daily activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Thursday, Feb. 29: At 2:26 am a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a structure fire in the 1500 block of 320th in Franklin Township. An outbuilding was a total loss. The fire is under investigation. At 3:03 pm a deputy and the Scranton fire department responded to a field fire in the 2300 block of E. Ave in Willow Township. The fire was a rekindle of a week-old fire. At 9:12 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a tree fire in the 1500 block of 320th St in Franklin Township. At 11:40 pm a deputy investigated a fire in the 300 block of Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, Feb. 28: At 1:01 pm deputies assisted the Jefferson PD in executing a search warrant in the 900 block of W. Adams St in Jefferson. At 1:01 pm the sheriff served a search warrant for the Jefferson PD in the 600 block of Adrian St in Churdan. At 3:16 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest on N Ave near 270 St.
Tuesday, Feb. 27: At 12:31 pm a deputy investigated a report of two dogs running at large in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton. At 7:55 pm deputies and the Jefferson fire department responded to a brush pile fire in the 1000 block of 215th St in Bristol Township. At 10:33 pm deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a combative patient at Greene County Medical Center.
Monday, Feb. 26: At 1:16 pm the sheriff, deputies, Grand Junction fire department, and Rippey fire department responded to a grass fire in the 1900 block of T Ave in Washington Township. At 1:30 pm a deputy, Grand Junction fire, and Perry fire responded to a grass fire in the 2200 block of Quest Ave in Franklin Township. At 1:45 pm the sheriff, deputies, and fire departments from Jefferson, Paton, Churdan, Grand Junction, Scranton, Gowrie, Boxholm, Pilot Mount and Ogden responded to fires that stretched from near W Ave on 170th St to R Ave, and north from 170th St to 130th St. No structures were lost but a large amount of stock and hay round bails were lost in the fires. At 2:02 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of gun shots in the 1000 block of Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Sunday, Feb. 25: At 2:57 am a deputy investigated an electrical flash near the wind turbines on W Ave near 250th St in Junction Township. At 3:23 am a deputy investigated a complaint of gun shots in the 200 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 3:28 am Boone County sheriff’s office asked for assistance with a pursuit that ended near Oakland Ave and Hwy 30 east of Jefferson. A Boone County deputy arrested one individual. At 8:58 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Quest Ave near 340th St in Franklin Township. Delores Kenney, 75, of Bagley struck a deer with a 2023 Toyota Highlander. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $20,000. At 11:38 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a male subject chasing cats with an air rifle in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 2:43 pm a deputy investigated a dog running at large on Perkins St in Churdan. At 3:06 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to a field fire near 180th St and M Ave in Bristol Township.
Saturday, Feb. 24: At 12:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1100 block of 237th St west of Jefferson. At 6:47 pm a deputy arrested Jacob Vreugdenhil, 27, of Scranton on an arrest warrant for criminal mischief- second degree and trespass*.
Friday, Feb. 23: At 12:26 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest in the 500 block of S. Locust St. At 4:50 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near J Ave west of Jefferson. Robert Harms, 35, of Carroll struck a deer with a 2019 Hyundai Accent. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
Thursday, Feb. 22: At 12:29 pm a deputy arrested James Harris, 36, of Woodward for driving while barred* in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane in Jefferson. At 4:52 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 600 block of Jefferson St, Scranton. At 10:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of an illegal fire in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton. The fire was found to be a legal burn pit.
Wednesday, Feb. 21: At 6:52 am a deputy investigated a dog running at large in the 200 block of Wise St in Paton. At 3:25 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of E. Percival St Rippey. At 11:10 pm a deputy investigated a fire on 160th St near K Ave in Bristol Township. The fire was a controlled burn.
Tuesday, Feb. 20: At 9:48 am a deputy located a trailer stolen from Jefferson on 277th St near Redwood Ave in Grant Township. At 10:54 am a deputy investigated criminal mischief in the 500 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 3:49 pm a deputy assisted with a black lab and basset hound that were picked up near C Ave and 250th St in Scranton Township. The dogs were taken to the Community Animal Shelter.
Monday, Feb. 19: At 12:46 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a search warrant in the 400 block of Head St in Jefferson. At 10:44 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township.
Sunday, Feb. 18: At 9:06 am a deputy conducted a traffic stop at Main and 12th Sts in Grand Junction. Christopher Sowers, 51, of Grand Junction was arrested for driving while barred*. At 2:50 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop at 11th and Bennett Sts in Grand Junction. Drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance were located in the vehicle. Charges are pending lab results. At 10:58 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a traffic stop at N. Olive and E. Adams Sts.
Saturday, Feb. 17: At 7:57 am a deputy investigated an accident in the 1000 block of Main St in Scranton. Jamie Theulen, 27, of Scranton struck a parked 2013 Chrysler Town and County van. Theulen was driving a 2013 Ford F150. Damage to the van was estimated at $2,500. Damage to Theulen’s truck was estimated at $2,000. At 11:37 am a deputy investigated an attempted burglary in the 400 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction.
Friday, Feb. 16: At 6:27 am the sheriff, a deputy, Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 4 near 310th St in Franklin Township. Whitney Case, 37, of Dexter lost control of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and went into the west ditch. The truck entered a large culvert, causing the truck to be totaled. The driver was transported by ambulance to the Dallas County Hospital with suspected injuries. The airbags deployed in the truck and the driver was wearing a seatbelt. 9:27 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on W Avenue near 230th east of Grand Junction. Wendy Hopkins, 49, of Rippey lost control of a 2011 Ford Edge. The vehicle rolled into the east ditch. Hopkins was taken to Greene County Medical Center by private vehicle. Damage to the car was estimated at $6,000. At 9:49 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on S Ave near 170th St in Dawson Township. David Wells of Paton lost control of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and entered the ditch, striking a road sign. The truck was not damage. At 8:15 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest.
Thursday, Feb. 15: At 11:36 am the sheriff, a deputy, Scranton fire department and Greene County Ambulance responded to a garage fire in the 700 block of Oak St in Scranton. There was no fire. just an overheated wood stove chimney. At 8:29 pm a deputy investigated a hit and run accident in the 800 block of High St in Scranton. A 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was struck by an unknown vehicle. causing an estimated $1,000 in damage.
Wednesday, Feb. 14: At 3:49 pm a deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on N Ave near 170th St north of Jefferson. Star Gifford, 32, of Jefferson was arrested for operating while under the influence*. She was cited for open container, and dark windows.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: At 8:53 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 230th St near S Ave west of Grand Junction. Loren Nalean, 73, of Boone struck a deer with a 2014 F-150 causing an estimated $1,500 damage to the pickup truck. At 1:15 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 500 block of Sand St in Churdan.
Monday, Feb. 12: At 10:59 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a stray dog in the 1900 block of T Ave in Washington Township. At 5:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 300 block of Hager St in Grand Junction.

Saturday, Feb. 10: At 10:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 2100 block of B Ave in Willow Township. At 10:47 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 1000 block of Sandoe St in Grand Junction.
Friday, Feb. 9: At 1:21 pm a deputy assisted with locating a phone that was taken from Walmart in Boone. The phone was located in the 300 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction. At 4:24 pm a deputy conducted tobacco compliance checks again and Sparky’s in Jefferson sold tobacco to an underage person for a second time. At 9:48 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest.
Thursday, Feb. 8: At 6:26 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on D Ave near 185th St in Kendrick Township. Nicole Tuel, 47, of Scranton struck a deer with a 2015 Subaru Forester. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000. At 7:04 pm a deputy arrested Darren Lehrkamp, 32, of Scranton in the 900 block of Locust St on an arrest warrant for escape*.
Wednesday, Feb. 7: At 10:13 am a deputy investigated a siting of a wanted person near Hwy 30 and Hwy 4 in Jefferson. At 6:23 pm a deputy conducted tobacco compliance checks in Greene County. Sparky’s in Jefferson was found in violation.
Tuesday, Feb. 6: At 12:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 200 block of Anyer St in Dana. At 4:23 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 1000 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 4:46 pm the sheriff and deputies conducted a search warrant in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton looking for a wanted person. At 6:45 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 1000 block of U Ave north of Grand Junction. Candance Kirk, 55, of Grand Junction struck a deer with a 2013 Nissan Murano. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500. At 8:47 pm a deputy assisted with placing two dogs found near Falcon Avenue and 240 St east of Scranton in the Community Animal Shelter. One dog was a husky and the other was a white. At 10:28 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with locating a juvenile in the 100 block of N. Olive St.

Sunday, Feb. 4: At 7:54 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of State St in Scranton. At 8:31 pm a deputy was advised of cattle out in the 900 block of Hwy 4 east of Scranton.

Thursday, Feb. 1: At 7:24 am deputies were advised of an intoxicated minor in the 400 block of S. 11th St in Grand Junction.
